Position Overview

Craigs are seeking a motivated, dynamic and technically capable Business Development Manager to join our team in Lisburn. Your primary focus will be in the specialised construction product ranges, and along with the wider business products, lead and drive growth in line with Group objectives and targets. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and support to new and existing customers, ensuring they understand the full value of our products and solutions. You will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies, nurturing relationships and taking the initiative to generate and close new opportunities. You will play a critical role in driving revenue growth, expanding market share and achieving sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Sales Support: Provide technical expertise and support to customers, demonstrating how our products meet their needs and solve their challenges
  • Customer Engagement: Pro-actively build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their requirements, providing tailored solutions, drive repeat business and maximise customer satisfaction
  • Product Demonstrations: Initiate, plan and conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and benefits of our construction equipment and diamond tools, and representing Craigs at trade shows, conferences and product launches
  • Sales Strategy: Collaborate with the sales team to develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve sales targets across Ireland and within agreed distributor agreement regions
  • Market Analysis: Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities and develop new business opportunities and areas for growth
  • Technical Training: Provide training and support to customers on the proper use and maintenance of our products. Actively follow-up on any warranty issues, ensuring customer priority and satisfactory level of service
  • Reporting: Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to senior management
  • Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional activities, trade shows, and advertising campaigns to increase the company profile and generate further growth

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of proven experience in technical sales, preferably in the construction or related industry
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction equipment and diamond tools
  • Comprehensive knowledge of modern construction methods and associated regulations for safety, welfare, and operation of industrial tools and equipment
  • Knowledge of current environmental guidance and associated industry best practices
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM applications
  • Availability and willingness to travel as needed to meet clients, suppliers, and attend industry events

Qualifications

  • Qualification in mechanical engineering or a similar field would be an advantage
